The strong connection between brain and money

The way we think about money is strongly reflected in our behavior towards money and our ability to generate and manage money.

I will share with you insights of a study made to identify our brain’s behavior towards expensive items.

A group of people were separated into two groups and each group was given the task to try different types of wine, from the cheapest to the most expensive wine brands (they tried the same type of wine, but the wine was served in different packaging).

We tend to think that the more expensive the wine, the better its quality.

After they drank the wine, the researchers of this study used fMRI (Functional magnetic resonance imaging) to notice and record the brain’s activity and reaction of individuals who drank “cheap” and those who drank “expensive” wine.

The fMRI results showed that the people who tried “expensive wine” had a higher brain activity in the inner part of the frontal cortex where dopamine was produced. The people who tried the cheap wine did not experience the same brain activity.

Can you believe it?

The way we think about money is crucially related to how brain perceives reality. This is very important to analyze and to understand that our relation with money starts with the way our brain is created and works.

When we become aware of this and understand what happens inside our brains, then we are more able to analyze every thought, what we say and how we act based on the perceptions that we have inside of us.

Start to change your perception about money right now and you will start to think differently (and therefore achieve different results when it comes to making money).
